Confirmation - 2010

"Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit...in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of the Christian life. To this end catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church, as well as the parish community."

The Confirmation preparation program is open to those 9th-12th graders who desire to complete the Sacraments of Initiation. Confirmation is not "graduation" from religious education, nor is it meant to teach all there is to know about being Catholic. It should flow from a young person's active participation in their faith through what they learn in the family and in the faith community.
