Littlest Angels (3 & 4 Year Olds)
The Littlest Angels program is an established Archdiocesan preschool program. The classroom environment provides a small teacher to child ratio with a high level of direct interaction. The Stories of God’s Love program by RCL Benzinger is utilized. It is the first new preschool program following the guidelines for preschool materials developed by the Catechism committee of the USCCB. The children grow in spirituality and in their relationship with Jesus through prayer, Bible stories, weekly lessons, crafts, music, play-acting, and games.


Faith & Life (K-5th Grade)
Our elementary PSR program utilizes the Faith & Life curriculum published by Ignatius Press. The program provides is correlated with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and incorporates scripture into the lesson plans.. Special activities including family PSR days and liturgical celebrations. Second grade students are prepared to receive the Sacraments of First Reconcilation and First Eucharist.


Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) (Ages 3-13)
CGS is an Archdiocesan approved faith formation program that uses a Montessori approach for children ages 3-13. Children meet in a permanent prepared environment called an “atrium” and discover their faith through Scripture and Liturgy. Classes are made up of mixed age groups according to the child’s needs:
Level I for 3-6 year olds
Level II for 6 to 9 year olds
Level III for 9 to 13 year olds.
Children receiving their Sacraments prepare through study of the moral parables, extended discovery of the Eucharist and through special retreats. cgs@stjudeatlanta.net


Home Schooling
St. Jude has a policy and program for those who desire to teach religious education to their children at home. Please contact the Religious Education office id you want to home school.


Special Needs Religious Education (SPRED)
A special needs classroom experience is offered for children with learning or physical disabilities. Our goal is to provide a positive, affirming atmosphere in which all students can learn and grow in their faith. If you would like to enroll your child in this program, please contact our office to discuss your child’s needs.
Special Sacramental Preparation Class
This class is designed for children who (ages 7 and older) who have not received the two years of required Catholic Religious Education needed to receive Sacraments. spred@stjudeatlanta.net


EDGE (6th -8th Grade)
EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program for early adolescents in grades six, seven, and eight. EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. It is modeled more like the Life Teen program than the traditional classes. Goals of the EDGE include:
- Foster a transforming spiritual experience of Jesus through the liturgy, allowing early adolescents to have a profound experience of the Word of God and the Eucharist.
- Assist middle school youngsters in gaining an understanding and appreciation for what the Catholic Church teaches and believes.
- Incorporate the Catholic Church’s vision of social justice and peace into their spiritual life.
- Develop an identity in middle school youth and in the EDGE ministry as being a vital and visual presence within the parish.


Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Elementary School, with a more than forty year history of service to families in our parish and the surrounding areas, is an integral part of the life of the community. Students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 are nurtured in the teachings of the Catholic faith and challenged to reach high levels of academic achievement. Saint Jude Parish Preschool provides a warm, loving environment for children ages 2 to 4. Our structured classrooms are the setting for a curriculum begins with socialization and progresses to school readiness skills. All that we do is founded on Jesus Christ, as revealed through the teachings of the Catholic Church. We honor and respect the role of the family and we hope to serve yours through this ministry. The program runs through September through May from 9:00 – 12:30 PM, in the D’Youville Center. Board of Total Catholic Education has general responsibility for oversight, policy-making and financial review of all educational programs of the parish. Four sub-committees assist the Board: adults and RCIA, religious education (K-Gr. 6) and special education, school, and youth.
